What is a mind map? Why do we use them?
Ava says: Mind maps are when you read a story and think about what was in the story. Like I just read a story about dogs. So some descriptive words about dogs would be like: dog, bark, fur, teeth. Anything like that. We use them to describe something you heard in a book.
Julianna says: A mind map is often created around a single thing, drawn as an image in the center of a blank page, to which things or ideas such as images, words and parts of words are added. We use mind maps to visualize the story we are reading.
Josiah says: What I think a mind map is where it tells you about what you like, how you feel, what you might like to eat, or like to do. We use mind maps to help us remember and retell a story or idea.
In Mr.Swiders class we read a book called The Giving Tree. After we read the book multiple times, we made a mind map to go with it. The mind maps were about what we thought was important.
